Pre-Meeting Workshop: MTM Boot Camp The Business of Patient Care: Incorporating Comprehensive Medication Management (MTM) into your Practice
Where do you “fit” in the new health care system as a neuropsychiatric pharmacist? This day-long workshop will begin with an update on the health care system. The emphasis will be on the role of the pharmacist in the new organizational structures of the medical home and accountable care organizations.
The program will then demonstrate what payers want from pharmacists who wish to provide medication management services. Keys to defining your service, recruiting patients, demonstrating your value, charging for your services and expanding your service will all be demonstrated.
This workshop will provide critical information to pharmacists in all practice settings. You will get important questions answered and understand what changes are needed to achieve and maintain a successful practice. You will also have the opportunity to learn from individuals in the private sector who have experience in delivering medication management services. Join us with the goal of making your service even more successful in 2012.

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Compare existing data and emerging clinical trial data that focus on the efficacy, safety and tolerability of specific second-generation antipsychotics in children and adolescents with a spectrum of psychiatric disorders
- Evaluate the differential propensity of second-generation antipsychotics for causing metabolic adverse effects and the clinical significance of these differences
- Implement appropriate management strategies using second-generation antipsychotics in children and adolescents with psychiatric disorders

Pre-registration is encouraged at www.scimedny.com/cpnp2009a>. Pre-registrations are honored for the first 15 minutes of the event. After that walk-ins are accepted until the meeting space is full.
Accreditation and Designation of Credit
SciMed is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. This program will award 1.5 contact hours (0.15 CEUs) of continuing education credit. SciMed complies with the Criteria for Quality for continuing education programming.
There are no fees for participating and receiving CE credit for this activity. To successfully complete this CE activity, participants must:
- Attend/participate in the entire educational activity and review the course materials
- Complete the activity evaluation, which includes a request for credit section
- Return the completed forms to the registration desk before leaving
