Personalized Medicine in Depression
Though depression is one of the most prevalent mental illnesses that psychiatric practitioners will face, response to treatment is variable and largely unpredictable. During this session, Dr. Madhukar Trivedi, MD will identify characteristics which may predict treatment response. He will also highlight ways to “personalize” the treatment of depression to an individual. Lastly, Dr. Trivedi will highlight current and future research that focuses on identifying specific predictors of treatment response, such as biomarkers, genes or neuroimaging.
Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties Item Development Workshop
for the BCPP examination

Event: The BCPP Specialty Council and BPS invite current Board Certified Psychiatric Pharmacists (BCPP) to assist in developing new questions (items) for the Psychiatric Specialty Certification Examination. There is a need to address ongoing developments in Psychiatric practice and to increase the quantity and quality of questions in certain areas of the examination. As a Board Certified Psychiatric Pharmacist, you are uniquely qualified to contribute to this effort so that this exam accurately reflects changes in the practice of psychiatry. Only BCPP are being invited to participate in this activity.
Goal: The goal of the workshop is to review, refine, and edit submitted questions. Participants will work in small consensus groups. Questions approved during the workshop may appear on the examination in 2010 or in subsequent years.
