Over the past decade, research in the area of pharmacogenomics has helped advance clinical knowledge of pharmacokinetic drug interactions. While there is a plethora of research data available, it is often difficult for a practitioner to apply this data to daily practice. C. Lindsay DeVane, PharmD, BCPP, FCCP, Professor of Psychiatry and Behanvioral Sciences and Director of the Laboratory of Drug Disposition and Pharmacogenetics at Medical University of South Carolina, will deliver a keynote address discussing current research and literature that differentiates the roles of drug transporters in psychopharmacology, potential new drug therapies based on current knoweldge of drug transporters, and how research can be applied to patient care. Though cutting-edge information will be presented, the session will provide practical tools for use in current practice.
