CPNP Foundation Hosts Documentary Screening for OF TWO MINDS During CPNP Annual Meeting

Colorado Springs, CO—Over 100 individuals attended the first CPNP Foundation event during the 2013 CPNP Annual Meeting. OF TWO MINDS is an award-winning, feature documentary directed by Lisa Klein and Doug Blush. Filmed over three years, OF TWO MINDS weaves together stories from across America of the incredible highs and devastating lows of bipolar disorder. It is not a medical primer or tabloid scandal expose, but rather a flesh and blood look at how remarkable people deal with the symptoms, stigmas and unique insights that come out of living with bipolar disorder.

"Characterizing the Relationship Between Individuals With Mental Health Conditions and Community Pharmacists" Survey Results

The CPNP Foundation, in collaboration with NAMI, conducted an online survey of individuals with mental health conditions, or family members, about their interactions with their community pharmacists. Over 1,000 individuals responded to the survey with 65 percent of respondents being individuals with a mental health condition. Eighty percent of all respondents reported that they exclusively used a community pharmacy to fill their prescriptions for mental health medications. Responses demonstrate several opportunities in the areas of access to pharmacists, privacy, professional relationship-building, and increased assistance with effectiveness or safety monitoring of mental health medications. Read the survey report for additional information and key findings.
