Dr. Caley is an Associate Clinical Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy. He is a board certified psychiatric pharmacist. He received a BS in Pharmacy and PharmD from the University of Rhode Island, and completed a twoyear specialty residency at the Institute of Mental Health in Cranston, RI and at Eastern State Hospital in Medical Lake, WA. Prior to receiving his PharmD, Dr. Caley worked for three years as both a community and hospital pharmacist.
He is a founding member of, and past president for the College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists (CPNP). In the past, Dr. Caley has been the chair of the CPNP public and professional relations committee and the program committee; he was also elected as an at large member of the board of directors. He is also a past chair of the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties Specialty Council on Psychiatric Pharmacy. Dr. Caley is a reviewer for and serves on the Psychiatry Panel of the Editorial Board of the Annals of Pharmacotherapy. He has also been actively involved in the annual planning of the Northeastern Psychiatric Pharmacotherapy Symposium.
Dr. Caley is active in scholarship and in giving presentations on local and national levels. He is the director of the residency program in psychiatric pharmacy at the Institute of Living (IOL). Dr. Caley also provides clinical psychopharmacology consultation services to several departments at the IOL including the Schizophrenia Rehabilitation Program which provides cognitive remediation services. Last, and most importantly, he is a husband, and a father of three children.
