CPNP Member Communication

The College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists (CPNP) works to provide networking opportunities for its members, a competitive advantage for its members, and to promote a positive image for the field of psychiatric and neurologic pharmacy. CPNP accomplishes these goals through the timely delivery of member publications, website services, and networking opportunities.

Member Communication Tools

CPNP offers a number of communication vehicles to keep the membership informed.

  1. Weekly Update: Each Monday, CPNP members receive up-to-date CPNP and professional news in an easy to read email. Personal reminders and information is customized to each member and included in their Weekly Update.
  2. Mental Health Clinician: With a July 2011 inaugural issue, The Mental Health Clinician (MHC) delves into new topics each month to provide a psychiatric pharmacist perspective on a wide variety of issues from metabolic effects to MTM. Browse the archive to access content from MHC and previous CPNP electronic newsletter formats.
  3. Shared Resources: Still in its infancy but slated for major expansion in the summer and fall of 2010 is CPNP’s Shared Resources. Here members can provide documents, tools and commentary on areas of common interest.
  4. Member DirectoryMake contact with your peers via this online, easy to use member directory. Looking for a specialty or a colleague in a particular location, use the search features to whittle your list for manageable follow-up.

CPNP Member Email List

CPNP members have the opportunity to network and share information with peers through the CPNP Email List. On average, 90% of CPNP members subscribe to the email list. Topics discussed on this unmoderated list include patient cases and questions, references and resources, current news, announcements, policies, procedures and practices and much more.

CPNP members rave about the value of information and expertise they can tap into through this network of colleagues. To send and receive messages to/from the list, members must do the following:

  1. Indicate their desire to be subscribed to the list through their member profile.
  2. Send from the email address on-file with the CPNP office. Your email address serves as your member identification and there must be an exact match between the email address your computer sends and receives from and that which CPNP has on file.
  3. To send to the list, type list@cpnp.org and complete your message.
  4. To reply to a message sent to the list, hit reply to respond to only the author. To respond to the author and the entire list, type in list@cpnp.org in the “To” line of your email.
  5. Email messages are archived on the website. You can search for archived emails by using the website search feature.

CPNP Website

With CPNP members spread throughout the US, Canada and several other countries, CPNP has made a significant investment in website technology to offer convenient and efficient communication between CPNP and its members.

Several pages within the CPNP website are protected to provide member-only access. You will find these pages under the Members tab on the website. To access these protected pages on the CPNP website you must first log-in.

  1. Click on the page you wish to access or the log-in button in the upper right hand corner.
  2. Enter your email address in the User Name field exactly as it is on file with CPNP. Your email address serves as your member identification and there must be an exact match between the email address you enter and that which is on file with CPNP.
  3. To create your first or replacement password, click on the password help link beneath the log-in.
  4. Within 30 seconds a generic password should arrive in your email in-box. This password is assigned randomly by the website and is not recorded at CPNP. If you don’t receive a password in a short period of time, please check your junk or restricted folders.
  5. Copy the computer assigned password and return back to the log-in screen at www.cpnp.org and enter the password.
  6. Once you are logged into the website, you can change your password to one more memorable to you by clicking on the change password link in the log-in box. Your personal password is not visible to CPNP at any time.
