About CPNP
The College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists (CPNP) is a professional association of over 1100 members dedicated to promoting excellence in pharmacy practice, education and research to optimize treatment outcomes of individuals affected by psychiatric and neurologic disorders. Members of CPNP are generally pharmacists who work directly with patients and caregivers to apply specialized clinical knowledge and skills, educate and train healthcare professionals and develop new knowledge in order to improve health outcomes for those individuals with psychiatric and neurologic disorders. Members apply evidence-based, cost-efficient best practices as a member of a treatment team to achieve patient recovery and improved quality of life.
CPNP actively partners with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and health care associations recognizing the importance of consumers, pharmacists and other specialized professionals working together in managing psychiatric illness. CPNP is integrally involved in supporting and providing educational products and services such as the CPNP Annual Meeting and recertification education for the 647 Board Certified Psychiatric Pharmacists (BCPPs), 70% of whom are members of CPNP.
