[Correspondence] Membership exams overseas in light of new global code of practice

In light of the 63rd World Health Assembly resolution on the global code of practice for the international recruitment of health personnel (May 15, p 1673), we question the notion of holding membership examinations to UK colleges in low-income and middle-income countries.

Message from the President

Dear CPNP Colleagues,

One full month in "office" and I already have a much greater appreciation for how politicians manage their day-to-day activities at the local, state, and national levels. Their plates are full and they rely heavily on their constituents to get proper, timely, and accurate information to make critically important decisions that impact you and I in our everyday lives. While being the President of CPNP does not reach the level of involvement that it does in some political arenas, I have quickly found that relying on the membership for input and ensuring that those you trust have the resources to do what needs to be done, are critical elements to an organization being successful.

I want to take a moment to thank all of you, the members of this organization, for your continued commitment to CPNP. I have been on the Board for several years in different capacities and the passion for volunteerism in this organization has never ceased to amaze me. Currently I am serving as Board Liaison to two very involved committees-the Business Development and Publications and Online Products Committees. Through these committees, members have been sharing great ideas of things we can do to help pharmacists and other healthcare professionals prepare and improve their ability to care for the mentally ill.
