The Public Education Committee is charged with supporting AAPP's consumer advocacy partnerships. Current ongoing activities include providing education at the NAMI Annual Meeting and providing information and resources for AAPP members to enable involvement in consumer advocacy organizations at the local level. (Meets: Virtually Every Other Month, 1 hour, Monthly Commitment: 2 Hours)

NAMI Annual Convention.
a.
Prepare and submit workshop proposals annually.
Due: 12/1/2023
b.
AAPP members, committee members and students (under supervision of a pharmacist), respond to attendee questions at the "Ask the Psychiatric Pharmacist" booth.
Due: 06/2024
2.
Annually, update and verify patient information provided on aapp.org (under About AAPP/Toolkits and Resources).
3.
Develop tools and resources that AAPP members can utilize as a basis for providing local community services.
a.
Review and update existing consumer educational tools during the period of January through March of each year.
b.
Develop 4 to 6 brief educational tools annually during the period of June through December of each year.
