Program Philosophy

Our residency is a 12 month, full-time program that provides one resident an intensive experience in delivering mental health services to the Veteran population in South Texas. The purpose of the residency program is to prepare the pharmacist clinician to obtain a position as a Mental Health Clinical Pharmacy Specialist and to become board certified in psychiatric pharmacy.

Site Special Features

While the Valley Coastal Bend Healthcare system is based out of Harlingen, TX, this residency is mostly located at Corpus Christi CBOC and Specialty Clinic. Inpatient experience is coordinated with South Texas VA HCS in San Antonio, TX. In your spare time, experience all that living on the Gulf coast has to offer! Plenty of fishing, kite surfing, boating and extended swimming (all the way through mid-October)!
