Student Pre-Meeting Workshop: Mental Health First Aid (Saturday, 4/21, and Sunday, 4/22)

Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour training developed to teach participants how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The course will be offered to students over two days and is also supported by the CPNP Foundation. Session 1 will begin on Saturday, April 21 from 1:00-6:00 PM. Session 2 will take place the following day, Sunday, April 22 from 8:00-11:15 AM. A separate registration fee of $50 will be required to attend Mental Health First Aid training at CPNP 2018.

Student Education Track (Sunday, 4/22 and Tuesday, 4/24)

The student programming track is best suited for P1-P3 students. P4 students are encouraged to participate in the residency track which will highlight more advanced programming topics.

Student Chapter Meeting (Sunday, 4/22)

All members of CPNP student chapters and anyone hoping to start a CPNP student chapter is invited to attend the Student Chapter Meeting on Sunday, 4/22 in Grand Ballroom 1-2 at 7:15 PM, following the opening reception. In this meeting, members from various pharmacy schools will have the opportunity to share ideas, ask questions, and network with other student chapter members. 

CPNP Connect: A Mentoring Opportunity

In addition to tailored programming, students have an opportunity to be paired up a pharmacist member for a one-on-one (30 minute) mentoring opportunity during CPNP 2018. Pairing of the mentor to the mentee will be based on the specialty interests of the member and student as identified during the online registration process. Once paired, mentors and mentees will set up a time to meet during CPNP 2018 to answer questions and discuss future plans.

Research Trainee Poster Session (Monday, 4/23)

Students and trainees will showcase their posters during Poster Session I in Griffin Hall, Monday, 4/23 from 5:30-7:00 PM. Award winners will be announced at 6:45 PM. A full listing of poster authors and abstracts can be found online. We hope you will support your peers during this poster session!

Student Registration and Travel Grants

Thanks to the generous support of the CPNP Foundation, CPNP Past Presidents’ Destiny Fund, and CPNP members, 20 students received a $500 grant consisting of a full registration to the Annual Meeting ($175 value) and a $325 travel stipend based on the merits of their applications.
