Resident Education Track (Sunday, 4/7)

1:15-1:30 PM: Welcome and Orientation

1:30-2:45 PM: Letters to a Young Psych Pharmacist

Panelists from various, practice sites will present their current clinical service/practice sites and provide advice to residents and new practitioners regarding their path in creating this service. These testimonials will inspire and guide residents and new practitioners as they move into their first psychiatric positions. Opportunities for questions and answers will be provided.

2:45-3:00 PM: Break

3:00-4:15 PM: What I Wish I Knew Roundtables

Seasoned psychiatric pharmacists will join residents in small group roundtable discussions surrounding case vignettes of scenarios that residents are likely to encounter as new practitioners. The group will collectively discuss options to resolve the situations presented.

4:15-4:45 PM: Ready, Set, BCPP

Representatives from the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) join us at CPNP 2019 to explain the criteria that must be met before qualifying to take the board certified psychiatric pharmacy (BCPP) examination. CPNP’s BCPP Director, Rex Lott, will describe the recertification resources available so that newly minted BCPPs will understand their options upon certification success. Lastly, a new BCPP will discuss how they prepared for and were successful on the BCPP exam. Opportunities for questions and answers will be provided.
