Session Time and Location

The live session is complete.

Target Audience

This course is designed for pharmacists, nurse practitioners or other health care professionals involved in the comprehensive medication management of psychiatric and/or neurological patients.

Session Summary

Schizophrenia is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. A robust body of research suggests that shorter duration of untreated psychosis (DUP) and the delivery of team-based multi-element, multi-disciplinary care, called coordinated specialty care (CSC), are each associated with better outcomes. This course will discuss strategies to reduce DUP and will present components of coordinated specialty care including antipsychotic treatment. A final important question is how long CSC programs last and what happens after CSC treatment ends. This program will ensure psychiatric pharmacists understand the current state of literature for FEP population in terms of early detection, engagement, treatment, and unmet needs.
