The Patient Medication Education Groups (PMEG) Community is focused on being a resource center for pharmacists and other healthcare providers who lead educational groups centered on medications for patient and/or family-member audiences.
The PMEG Community along with CPNP has accepted an official definition of PMEG which can be found here: The Patient Medication Education Groups (PMEG) Community focuses on pharmacist delivery of education to patients in clinical practice settings. Community members have the opportunity to discuss and more fully deliberate best practices and share ideas regarding PMEGs. In addition, the community seeks to discuss expansion of PMEG services to ambulatory environments and other innovative opportunities.
PMEG Community members engage in networking and discussion to promote effective delivery of PMEGs. Sharing group-leading experiences, expanding PMEG services, discussing difficult group-related issues, training opportunities for group leaders, and evaluating value of PMEGs and patient healthcare outcomes related to PMEGs are all within the scope of the Community and its members.
