At the CPNP 2015 Forum on Our Future, we announced the formation of the Curriculum Paper Task Force to study and evaluate the state of education in psychiatry and neurology at pharmacy programs across the country. Two survey instruments were developed over the summer to assess what psychiatry and neurology content was taught in pharmacy programs during the 2014-2015 academic year and to assess CPNP members’ teaching activities and opinions on what should be taught in pharmacy programs.  The responsiveness of our CPNP membership and support from the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) allowed the necessary data to be collected on both surveys during the fall and winter.

Preliminary results are being presented at CPNP 2016 in the form of two scientific posters. To learn more about the findings, visit the posters in Colorado Springs or read the abstracts online:

The full paper on psychiatric and neurologic curriculum is being developed and is expected to be ready for submission to the American Journal of Pharmacy Education in fall of 2016. Watch your CPNP communications to learn more about the findings and to be alerted when it is published.
