Phoenix, Arizona served as host city for the College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacist’s 20th Annual Meeting held April 23-26. A record-breaking 770 healthcare professionals registered to attend this four-day conference which featured nearly 30 hours of cutting-edge scientific presentations, one symposium, three product theaters and a display of 226 scientific posters. Jolene Bostwick, PharmD, BCPS, BCPP, Clinical Assistant Professor, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, served as Program Chair of the CPNP Annual Meeting. Sarah Melton, PharmD, BCPP, BCACP, Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice, Gatton College of Pharmacy, East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, TN, served as chair of Recertification continuing education.

Kicking off the meeting was a three-hour hands on pre-meeting workshop on Bridging the Gap Between Behavioral Health, Pain Management, and Substance Use delivered by Drs. Chris Herndon, James Gasper, and Kelly Gable. Monday’s keynote address was delivered by Dr. Harold Pincus on Neuropsychiatry and the Quality Measurement Industrial Complex: Incorporating Measurement-Based Care. Tuesday's keynote address was delivered by Dr. Susan Tapert on Cannabinoids and the Adolescent Brain. The final keynote address of the meeting, Cracked, Not Broken, delivered by Kevin Hines, rounded out the meeting along with additional concurrent programming provided throughout the meeting on topics such as antipsychotic use in pediatrics, somatic symptom disorders, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, autism, and much more. This year’s Annual Meeting also offered specific programming for over 100 residents and 120 students.

In addition to providing high quality education, the following CPNP business and recognition was conducted at the CPNP Annual Meeting.

OFFICER AND COMMITTEE CHAIR INSTALLATION

Officer transitions were announced with CPNP President Christopher Thomas, PharmD, BCPS, BCPP, Clinical Pharmacist in Psychiatry, Chillicothe Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Chillicothe, OH, passing the gavel to President-Elect Deanna Kelly, PharmD, BCPP, Professor, University of Maryland, Baltimore, MD. Also recognized as new President-Elect was Megan Ehret, PharmD, MS, BCPP, Behavioral Health Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, Department of Defense, Fort Belvoir, VA. All will assume their duties beginning in July of 2017.

In addition to the three officers above, the following individuals will serve on the CPNP Board during 2017-2018:
