East Tennessee State University Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy’s Generation Rx was recently named first runner-up for “best overall Generation Rx committee in the country” by the American Pharmacists Association — Academy of Student Pharmacists. Congratulations to CPNP member Sarah Melton who leads many of these efforts and the many CPNP student members who should be very proud of these accomplishments!

Kaiser Permanente Colorado Pharmacy Department has been named the 2019 recipient of the Warren E. Weaver/Richard P. Penna Award in the organization category.

Purdue Faculty and Students Take on Opioid Crisis: In the fall of 2018, Purdue students and faculty took the opioid-crisis fight to the front lines by distributing doses of naloxone, the FDA - approved medication that helps reverse an opioid overdose, during the Convoy of Hope and Veterans Stand Down events in Tippecanoe County. CPNP member Heidi Wehring, PharmD, BCPP, co-authored the chapter "Pharmacotherapy of Disruptive and Impulse Control Disorders" in the The Wiley Handbook of Disruptive and Impulseā€Control Disorders.
 
CPNP was welcomed as a Recognized National Organization at APhA 2019 participating as voting members in its first APhA House of Delegates. A special thanks to Michelle Geier, PharmD, BCPP and Sarah Melton, PharmD, BCPP, BCACP, FASCP for serving as CPNP’s 2 delegates.
