The CPNP Foundation is supporting a skills workshop to help psychiatric pharmacists make an impact in the new world of remote work.

The COVID-19 pandemic greatly accelerated the global adoption of remote work and collaboration. Many professionals have embraced telehealth, and many academics are adjusting to virtual classrooms. However, there are other important types of remote work that also need attention. This workshop provides hands-on training in established techniques to plan and facilitate effective virtual meetings. The resulting skills can be applied to peer discussions, office planning meetings, project review meetings, and other types of professional and personal meetings. The 8-hour workshop spans 10 weeks, culminating in facilitating discussions at CPNP 2021.

In three hands-on sessions, participants will learn to:  

  • Apply good meeting design to a virtual environment,
  • Practice a variety of methods to make meetings interactive,
  • Develop strategies to engage participants in the virtual environment,
  • Apply good facilitation techniques in a virtual environment, and
  • Apply those planning and facilitation techniques using practice opportunities.

Participants will ultimately apply those skills at the CPNP 2021 Annual Meeting by leading the Daily Debriefs during the Networking Hour each day. Post CPNP 2021, participants will come back together one last time to discuss the effectiveness of the experience and identify how the facilitation skills can be put to use over the coming year in various settings.

The workshop is led by two public health experts with extensive facilitation and facilitation training experience. It is appropriate for any pharmacist member, including residents and new practitioners. Given this unique, hands-on experience, attendance is limited to 25 such that an application is required (due January 13, 2021). Learn more and apply today!
