Review Course Editorial Board
The Review Course Editorial Board is responsible for developing and implementing standards for CPNP's BCPP Examination Review and Recertification course. Their responsibilities include speaker selection and communication, objectives design, curriculum review, test question review to ensure validity and reliability, and programming implementation and evaluation. Selection of editorial board members is completed every two years via an application process.

Charges to the Review Course Editorial Board

Starting April 2011, commence review process of speaker submitted materials.
Metrics: Timely completion of reviews according to agreed upon schedule, timely feedback to speakers, completion of product by end of September 30, 2011 for movement to book and presentation production phase and exam field testing phase for eventual targeted launch in mid-January 2012. -
Deliver training to the editorial board at the 2011 Annual Meeting in Phoenix regarding exam question writing, efficient and effective review processes, etc.
Metric: Develop agenda and speakers by March 30, 2011. 100% attendance by Editorial Board and Leadership. -
By September 30, 2011, evaluate editorial board appointment needs and if necessary, begin selection of additional or replacement editorial board members. Evaluate selection criteria and process and complete editorial board selection by 12/31/2011 so new editors can participate in 2012-2013 product evaluation.
Metric: Approval of recommended actions and replacement recommendations by the Board. - By September 30, 2012, recommend product alterations for the 2014-2015 product and document in the guideline manual. Task involves:
- Review of learning objectives for overall course and by chapter and consideration of advancing the level of the objectives to higher-level objectives.
- Review and expansion of needs assessment sources such as the BCPP content outline, prior year evaluations, examination performance, and the programming needs assessment conducted annually with focus on gaps in performance within the BCPP content outline domains.
- Thorough, documented review and evaluation of each chapter and speaker presentation by editorial board members for board and author consumption.
- Interviewing or surveying 2012-2013 authors to gather their recommendations regarding changes to formatting, time allotments, etc.
- Possibility of surveying or interviewing new BCPPs who purchased Review Course product prior to receipt of their certification to gather their feedback.
- Consideration of the required items in the outline and goals and structure of the presentations.
- Consideration of additional ways to make the product interactive.
- Consideration of varied audiences purchasing the product.

Recommending authors/faculty members for the 2014-2015 product.
Metric: Documentation in a standardized way of all of this data collection and review. Documentation of all recommendations in the guideline manual for review and acceptance by the Board.
- By January 31, 2012, refine and expand processes and guideline manuals containing recommendations regarding Editorial Board orientation, processes, policies and timelines for the 2012-2013 and future products. Timely review of 2011 exam performance and evaluations as well as review of development cycle successes and challenges. Submission and approval of recommendations by CPNP Board.

Develop the 2013 review course exam using the exam subcommittee.
Metric: Adherence to deadlines, development of an examination that is rigorous and demonstrates quality assessment traits.

By November 30, 2012, issue invitations and faculty guideline manual and contracts for the 2014-2015 product.
Metrics: Complete roster of qualified faculty with the bulk being BCPPs (with the exception of non-disease state types of topics). -
Continue adherence to high quality planning and implementation standards as well as achieving planning deadlines.
Metrics: Evaluation results, examination performance, BCPP exam pass rate, quality assessment results.
Charges to All Committees
- By June 30, 2011, as appropriate to each committee, appoint a liaison to the quarterly focus group to participate both as a CPNP member and as a representative of the committee’s interests.
- By June 30, 2011, submit committee recommendations regarding programming, workshops and roundtables to Program Committee. Note that all suggestions will be considered but not all can be accepted.
- Submit committee recommendations regarding possible member and non-member products and services to the Publications and Online Services Committee. Note that all suggestions will be considered but not all can be completed.
- Send a liaison to the quarterly focus group to participate both as a CPNP member and as a representative of the committee interests.
- Support The Mental Health Clinician by submitting timely content for publication as necessary, recommending relevant authors and sources as possible, and providing feedback as requested.
- As appropriate to committee efforts and planned scope of work, develop survey questions to include in the CPNP fall member needs assessment.

As a committee and as individual members, support CPNP by:
- Nominating individuals for leadership positions
- Nominating individuals for awards
- Contributing to and expanding the Shared Resources section of the website.
- Participating in membership activities such as membership polls, the CPNP list, surveys, poster session, poster awards, etc.
