  • PGY2 Other Features: The resident will teach at several local universities, as well as precept IPPE, APPE, and PGY1 residents. Additionally, the residents lead psychiatric grand rounds monthly, as well as leading didactics for the psychiatry medical residents. The resident has their own outpatient psychiatry clinic in which they treat patients within a federally qualified health center. The residents have a variety of rotations located both at RUHS as well as a neurology/academia rotation at Loma Linda. The residents also spend time teaching the community in a variety of settings, including NAMI and patient advocacy services.

The residency program allows the resident to serve the severely mentally ill patients of Riverside County in a variety of settings to create the best functioning possible in their life.

Site Special Features

Our residency is part of an academic teaching medical center that hosts trainees from a variety of specialties and schools. The RUHS pharmacy enterprise serves the acute care facility, the outpatient clinics, and the county jails, as well as acting as a resource to the county's emergency medical dispatch (EMD) services. In addition, our affiliations agreements with several schools of pharmacy and local institutions allows for the resident to see a variety of disease states and settings.
