Personal Information

The site collects personal information when you fill out the following forms: profile, membership application, abstract submission, surveys, and meeting registration. The information collected includes (but is not limited to) name, title, home address, business address, practice information, and email. Some of this information may be shared on this site as a part of the membership listing, and you may restrict the information shown by managing your preferences online. We use member information from the forms to send email, newsletters and event announcements. A credit card processing company is used to process credit cards. All credit card information is used only for billing purposes and is not stored or retained by AAPP. Members may choose to decline receiving future mailings. Additional information collected, including demographic information, may be used for internal organizational purposes but will not be shared publicly with any identifiers. AAPP may compile and distribute any information in its database in an aggregated de-identified format.

Correcting/Updating Personal Information

AAPP members can have their information updated or information access restricted by using the My AAPP Profile pages or by contacting the AAPP office.

Survey Information

Personally identifiable information is optional in our membership surveys and would be used only to contact somebody to clarify an answer. Demographic and profile data that are collected are analyzed and shared with AAPP officers, staff, and membership only on an aggregate basis.

Email to AAPP

Throughout AAPP's site, members are provided the opportunity to communicate with AAPP via Email. We read every message and try to reply promptly to every one. This information is used to reply directly to your questions or comments. Any personal information is only shared with your explicit permission.

Security

Maintaining the integrity and security of all data collected AAPP is obviously very important. Credit card information is transmitted in encrypted form. Personally identifiable information is stored with password protection. AAPP has a strict password rotation policy that is clearly communicated to all staff. Routine backups are made and stored in a secure site that is physically removed from the primary databases to permit recovery in case of a disaster.
