This program is shared between Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) and TriStar Centennial Parthenon Pavilion. HCA is the nation's leading provider of healthcare services, composed of locally managed facilities that include 164 hospitals and 114 outpatient centers in 20 states and England. The Parthenon Pavilion is a 132-bed inpatient psychiatric facility located on the campus of HCA's flagship hospital, TriStar Centennial Medical Center, and serves as the primary practice site for the resident. Required learning experiences include: adult psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, adolescent psychiatry, substance abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder, electroconvulsive therapy, neurology, medical/psychiatric, and an intensive outpatient program. Elective learning experiences will be based on the resident’s interest(s). Throughout the year, the resident will be involved in projects at the facility level and corporate level. The resident will also have many opportunities to be involved in and network with other psychiatric pharmacists at the local, state, and national level. In addition to valuable interactions with other residents at the corporate office, rotational opportunities include Medication Safety and Clinical Decision Making and Leadership. There is an optional Teaching and Learning Program (TLP) certificate available through the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy. There are opportunities for precepting pharmacy students and PGY1 residents. This program does consider pre-commitment from HCA and TriStar Centennial Medical Center PGY1 residents.
